Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kaila caught the wine bug while studying Communication & Media at Cornell University. Beyond exploring local wineries and sipping Finger Lakes Riesling, she enrolled in a wine course at Cornell’s Hotel School — and quickly connected the dots between wine and her passion for travel and storytelling.

After graduating, she explored multiple sides of the wine industry — from working a harvest in British Columbia to strategizing content for retailer Wine.Com. She then moved to Bordeaux, France, where she completed her MBA in Wine Marketing and became a full-fledged francophile. Upon returning to the states, she started her own wine communications consultancy, before joining Teuwen in 2022.

She holds a WSET Level 3 Award in Wine and Spirits.
