Marisa grew up on Long Island, NY in the household of a food editor and wine enthusiast. Throughout her childhood she took on the roles of recipe tester, sous chef and food runner, which undoubtedly honed her knack for pairings, ethic for hard work and recognition for food’s ability to bring people together, share stories, nourish and delight. With much of her off-time spent on Shelter Island, the proximity to the farmers, fisherman and winemakers of Long Island’s East End ingrained the crucial role of agriculture in a community. This personal background bloomed professionally with experience at Union Square Hospitality Group and with The James Beard Foundation.

Landing at Teuwen Communications in 2010, Marisa has since helped sprout and nurture strategies and compelling stories for restaurants, food products and wines and the people and cultures behind them. A lover of language, she has working knowledge of French and Italian.
